The Rookies go indoors!
During the dark evenings, GAC Rookies will continue practising their shooting skills indoors.
We will join the main GAC club on Sunday afternoons at Ash Manor Sports Centre. Please note a £2.50 fee for each Rookie shooting is requested as contribution towards hall fees.
Parents or Guardian must still be in attendance but no charge if not shooting. I have scheduled a reduced shooting time for the Rookies 1500-1700hrs, but Rookies are more than welcome to stay onto 1800hrs with the remainder of the club – if they have enough energy and the Parent/Guardian can hang on in there!
We will run a Rookies Singles Indoor League like we did for outdoors. 36 arrows, Imperial scoring at the indoor distance set for the GAC. The highest average score for boy and girl will receive a prize at the end of the season. I am looking at a “Rookies Indoors Pairs League”.
This is where we match off evenly balanced Rookie pairs (teams of 2).
Each team will shoot 36 arrows, i.e. each Rookie shoots a total of 18 arrows.
We keep track of the pair scores and a prize will go to the team with the highest average score over the indoor.
This type of league will work if we have consistency of attendance over the 6 Sundays

Sunday 11th December 1500-1700hrs – Rookies XMAS Shoot! Santa, Fairies, Elves all welcome!
Indoor 2012
Sunday 22nd January 1500-1700hrs
Sunday 12th February 1500-1700hrs
Sunday 11th March 1500-1700hrs

Saturday mornings GOOD WEATHER DAYS Rookies can still venture outside if the weather is good you may find some of us Rookies at the Normandy Club keeping our outdoor skills in trim.
